Big Winner in Pennsylvania in the Powerball Lottery
This week 10 people had the winning tickets for the Pennsylvania Powerball Lottery winning over$1,000,000. The Pennsylvania Lottery sold more winning Match tickets than in any other state where they Powerball Lottery tickets are sold.
The lucky winning numbers of the white balls in the lottery were 07-21-43-44-49 and a red Powerball number 29. Ten people from Pennsylvania had all 5 white numbers right. Unfortunately nobody got the red Powerball. Every one of these people won $853,492 plus $200,000 each for matching all the Powerball numbers plus another $653,492 from the Match 5 Bonus Prize Pool, the first in the history of the Powerball Lottery. The total amount of winnings on won ticket is $1.706.984!
In 2002, Powerball added the Match 5 Bonus Prize, but it was won for the first time last Wednesday night. At the moment that the Jackpot of the Powerball Lottery went beyond the record jackpot level (up to that time $315), the new bonus was limited to a growth of $25 million per draw. Normally, the portion of ticket sales would go to the Jackpot, but this time the sales revenue were added to the new Bonus Prize Pool, that was equally divided among all the Match 5 Bonus winners.
The very first time that the Match 5 Bonus Prize was paid out, it was over $32 million and needed to be divided by 49 winners. Two players who didn't come from Pennsylvania choose the PowerPlay option. Therefore these two players won over $1,600,000 each.
